A very scenic landscape of the rainforest on the way to Puerto Viejo in Limon region. Endless banana plantations followed by so many banana container zones and few kilometres later, cargo ships in the Caribbean sea to transport them to places..
Puerto Viejo has this relaxed atmosphere, the village lives on a slow pace here. Small, lively and colourful place by the Caribbean sea, filled with few tourists on bicycles and surfers. One storey, raised off the ground houses, small local restaurants, hostels and shops, all painted in vibrant colours with corrugated metal roofs.
The architecture is not impressive, what is though is the sea and the jungle and its sounds that surround the village.
Many foreigners have chosen this destination to be their permanent or semi permanent residency as it offers a different more relaxed day to day life.
